Transformation of Life – By Unleashing Your Core Values

We are taking many decisions in our everyday life; Researchers at Cornell University estimate we make 226.7 decisions each day on food alone. It is estimated that the average adult makes about 35,000 remotely conscious decisions each day – there are some kind of decisions viz.  Choose about tea/coffee, choose about types of foods, choose about breakfast, Choose about dresses, etc. etc. etc.. these are relatively simple decisions which are relatively low impact on life.

But when we talk about really complicated decisions Viz. Choose life, Choose career, Choose company we work for, choose life partner, choose close relationship or friendship etc.  it becomes very tricky situations; as this kind of decisions are long term influencing in life; right decision makes ourselves happy but other side will makes unsatisfied & upset.

Imagine in the middle of ocean, you are in a ship, where compass is not working – How you will feel?  Yes, it will be very difficult & panic situation, because it will be very tough and close to impossible to reach at your right destination at right time.

Like as ship, we all have compass, which will show us right path and right direction in any complicated situation at our life, if we able to find it or know to use this compass at right time.

You will surprised to know that your COMPASS is within you, it is your “CORE VALUES”.

Your core values will navigate and drive from your deepest inside, if we really know what our drivers are. When we know our values, we are free to find the best way to satisfy our deepest needs. Our core values, keeps us motivated and guiding us everything we do in our journey, called life.

In reality for common peoples like us, we want to reach on top of success ladder, be satisfied and happy in our life. But many times we have been realized, even-if we have got everything as per our defined success ladder, still we felt something are missing, don’t know what it is?  But not satisfied and happy at the end of day. This may be because of some of our core values are being compromised.

In the crossroad of crucial decision, many times we realized that our taken decision was not have happy conclusion and becomes upset about our decision. That kind of situation appears because we had taken decisions, which were not aligned with our core values.

Now point is, How to identify our Core Values?

It can be very much possible if we really looked for it.

You do calm down your mind, keeps focus on yourself, try to think about yourself and ask yourself few key questions and try to find out your answer coming from your deep inside.

Once we able to identify, realized our core values, it will be much more important to understand, analyze and demonstrate them. Values are not acquired what we say, but it is what we do demonstrate. There are list of values we normally listen e.g. Honesty, integrity, trustworthy, respect, etc.  However, it is important that;

Are we really understand the same?

Are we really belief on the same from our deepest inside?

Let me share a story of Larry and John:

There were a leading company where John was CEO, he has going to retired in short time. Though he has no children, he has to choose his successor from his deputies. One day he has called a board meeting along with his all 10-12 deputies and share about planning to choose new CEO.

He has handover few seeds to each one of them and tell them to plant at their own place. Treat these seeds like as our own organization, take care and nurture them at your best, so that they will have appropriate growth; who will have largest plant after one month; he will be our new CEO

Each one has gone back and plant the seed, do watering, nurturing every day. Week after week, they are discussing about plant growth, gradual increasing the plant size among themselves. However, Larry was very much upset that, even after watering, nurturing and doing everything with best efforts, he does not found any growth from seed. Other colleagues teasing him for not getting any growth from seed.

At last, the day has come when new CEO will going to be declare. There were gathering of large no of people. Moreover, all have seen John has entering on the stage along with Larry, and declared him as New CEO. All have got surprised, as Larry has no growth of seed, still he has selected as new CEO. This is not fare.

John: I had given you seeds, which are DEAD seed. Still except Larry, all you have found very good growth from your given seed.

And Larry was only one who has no growth from Dead seeds. He is the only person not to cheat, who shows the value of INTEGRITY. We all should learn from him.

It is most important to Analyze and demonstration of your Core Values

Values needs to be identify with thorough understanding, deep analyzing, realization and belief. So that, it would be practice for demonstration. If you ask for some of the Idea, as an way forward for practice and demonstration of your core values, let me help you to make it effectively with going ahead stepwise as below;

If you can remember that in last few months when you are really really annoyed and very very upset with some of your known person….e.g.

Someone treated you with disrespect and you feels hearted, you may quite angry or you may feel sad & emotional, based on your close relationship with them. That has happens because, one of your core values is RESPECT.

You have to figure out what makes you a very much uncomfortable and which are not acceptable.

Imagine, we are associated with such an organization, where our individual value and organizational values are incongruent, then what will be our feelings, how will be our satisfaction level and happiness at life?  Yes, we will continue with dissatisfaction, unhappy and mental stress. Your Core Values are situation independent decision helpers. Values defines how we want to continue to live.
